The cutting tool vibration
Tool vibration requires the simultaneous existence of three conditions
• Insufficient rigidity of process systems, including tools, resulting in low natural frequencies.
• A sufficiently large external excitation force is generated when cutting.
• Resonance occurs when the frequency of the external excitation is the same as the natural frequency of the process system.
The idea of solving tool vibration
The first is to reduce the cutting force to the minimum;
The second is to enhance the tool system or fixture and the workpiece static rigidity;
The third is to create a vibration inside the tool to disturb the frequency of the externally excited cutting force, so as to eliminate the tool vibration
